+K'Tral inquires about Romulans on the Solstice. Mel assists Zug and the Wabai gain their respective diplomatic statuses. Fal visits Armina to process his experiences on the last away mission. Jen visits Peel and a very drunk Phillip. Mel recieves new orders from the Admiral and gains a temporary First Officer; they are to transfer to the USS Varich for an exploratory mission. The new orders are forwarded to the crew.
+Ssleestak has some feelings about leaving Sola behind, but is reassured. He brings cinnamon buns to alpha shift staff meeting, which are well received. Senior staff go over the impending transfer. Phillip returns to quarters and Sola offers him a few minutes of real-time communication with his parents on Starbase 375. They are all right, but Harrison Dade passes on some doubts about the official story of what happened. Peel enters the cabin and is introduced to the Dades. Ssleestak takes a meeting with Cidhela about the Solstice while EVA on her hull. Jessa counsels Edgly regarding his work on the Ra'vin'ka transporter buffer; Ssleestak later offers insight on Dai'loq tech that may help. Galan'naar offers the service of his navigator for the mission.

 [[trek:characters:peel|Peel]] returns to her shared cabin and walks into the bedroom to find Phillip drinking. He eyes her un-selfconsciously and asks, "Do you want one?" She nods, so he pours her a glass of whatever he is drinking; it's tart but he can't read the label. He explains the situation as simply as he can while he's still coherent. However, the longer he talks the less coherent he gets, and finally he's reduced to a mishmash of multiple languages. Despite this, he just keeps drinking. Sometime later his doorbell chimes and Peel gets up to answer. She admits someone and Phillip overhears the low susurrus of a conversation. He slowly sticks his head out of the bedroom to see Ensign [[trek:characters:jen|Jen Kras]] speaking quietly with Peel. He says to her, "Hey." Jen asks him, "Are you alright?" Phillip replies, "Yeah." He plays it cool, or at least tries to.

 Saval's body language displays barely-repressed irritation, but Admiral T'konra gets right to the point; she states, "Captain, your orders are to temporarily take command of the //USS Varich// and scout these highlighted systems. After examining the intelligence you brought back from Kordikar, we have determined that these systems are the likely locations of a Dominion base." Mel examines the holographic map carefully but realizes the admiral is correct. The systems in question are isolated slightly above the stellar plane, and the Dominion ships fled Kordikar on a general heading towards that region. Admiral T'konra stipulates, "This is a reconnaissance mission only." Mel nods in agreement but notes that the admiral is still suffering from the after-effects of the trellium poisoning.
