-At the Deuce, William and Officer Davidson continue their casual conversation, mostly sticking to shoptalk. Davidson veers into politics, and William listens but doesn't contribute. He finds Davidson to be fairly moderate, and then the karaoke starts in the corner. Davidson effortlessly shifts conversations to some of William’s old cases. William willingly tells Davidson whatever he wants to know, until Davidson brings up the serial killer Bruce Schofield. William immediately redirects the conversation and surprisingly, Davidson doesn't notice.

McManus got shot twice in the arm two weeks ago and the report stated he was never going to regain full use of his arm, but it's healing quite rapidly. I can tell. What the fuck?” William replies, “I don't have any answers, and I can't explain it well.” Davidson eyes him shrewdly and says, “Then let me run a theory by you. You have a line to some sort of magical enhanced healing, and you're keeping it under the table.” William drawls, “If that was correct,” and trails off. Davidson nods and says, “Got it.” He then starts talking about the Patriots, but conversation drifts to his partner, Lee Gordon. William realizes that Davidson cares about Gordon very deeply and resents the fact that the VA has not been any help for his friend. William also realizes that Davidson is exhausted and is looking for anyone to talk to that's not his partner.

We might learn something.” For his part, “Ray just casually flips her off. Josh apologizes for Leta’s behavior and admits, “Leta grew up feral.” Leda starts to protest but realizes she actually can't. She concedes, “Well I do have a shapeshifting rat, that is part of my problem.” Ray retorts, “Oh I know. I've seen the videos of him shapeshifting.” Leta demands to know who taped that snippet, and Ray falls silent for a moment before admitting that his sister was responsible.

+The Troy Cell taps their individual sources for more information about the vampire threat. Anita reaches out to Gothi, who creates a stir at the Botanica by arriving in a purple hearse. She infodumps about the local vampire population, asking to accompany the X-Krewe on their weekly soujourn into the Underworld as payment.
+William continues drinking with Davidson, who works up the nerve to confirm  supernatural occurences around town. At the Troy house, Leta passes on the info she received from Guiseppe. Ray is trying to come to terms with his sister becoming a vampire about which Josh is trying to be comforting. The conversation shifts to the possible curse the Troys are under and the journal of Sally Troy. Ray eventually reveals that Elisa Mae has been lurking around his house and asks to stay for a bit. William arrives home and Veltis demands the papal hat. Abby states she is not going Below with the X-krewe tonight as she needs to keep an eye on Josh. The scene ends with Ray and Josh discussing carrying the candle as a calling, and Leta and Abby realizing they have not yet spoken to the Academatrix about the vampire problem.
