Hishu form: Puerto Rican, stands 5’8” with well-toned musculature, with long black hair, coffee-colored skin, and flashing hazel eyes. Gang tattoos snake up her arms, and rune scars cover her torso. She favors sturdy, utilitarian clothing, such as tough jeans, combat boots, and jackets with multiple concealed pockets. Despite being in Noho for over six years, she has yet to fully adapt to frigid New England winter. Still has the vibe of a gang member.
Urhan form: A big, muscular black wolf. Valerie is the largest wolf in the pack.
Human Life: Born and raised in Puerto Rico. Raised and baptized Catholic, but after getting shot and having a religious epiphany in 1998 she became Ásatrú. Reapplied herself, graduated high school in 2004 and applied to multiple schools. Smith accepted her to fulfill minority quotas, but she chose to go to prove she could do it. Graduated 2008 with a BA in Religion and a Minor in Latina Studies. Currently lives in Northampton, with the help of pack funds left over by a previous member. She is contemplating graduate school. Still has residual homophobia thanks to a conservative Catholic upbringing and some of the worst aspects of Ásatrú, but her loss to Cain has forced her into examining these prejudices.
First Change: September 2004, after the pressures of Smith caused the poor first-year to crack. The Crimson Pax pack found her and taught her the bare basics before they departed for the final battle with Na'Goth. She was initiated into the Storm Lords and the pack in October 2004, making her the most experienced Uratha in the pack.
Death Rage triggers: Racism, extreme cold (Admittedly, Valerie's definition of "extreme cold" falls under "a bit bracing" by New England natives.)
Valerie was the last survivor and the sole member of the pack from April 2006 to Hope Maloney's arrival in September 2007. In those seventeen months alone, she subconsciously imprinted the Troys as 'pack.'
