Jessa Tyr

U.S.S. Solstice

jessa2.jpg

Name Jessa Algin Tyr
Species Trill (Joined)
Gender Female
Age 24
Affiliation Starfleet
Rank Ensign
Division Medical
Position Asst. Counselor

Player: Andee

  • Parents: Asra Algin (professional singer); Remi Algin (acoustic engineer)
  • Siblings: Twin brothers, Jaris Algin and Jolan Algin (7 years younger)
  • Jessa is not in close contact with her family due to originating in a region of Trill that still has gender bias in favor of males. Her application and acceptance to the Symbiosis Commission is still a pain point between her and her parents. She still occasionally sends back small trinkets from her travels to her brothers when she remembers.
  • Was known as a Starfleet cadet for hard partying with few adverse effects. Still seems to have an astonishingly high alcohol tolerance.
  • Owns Raj. Jessa's primary relaxation tactic is plopping the squirmy affectionate puppy into a patient's lap for petting and kisses.
  • Her hair is curly to the point of unruliness. Naturally jet black, it is now a vivid, deep purple after a prank by the U.S.S. Solstice security personnel. Jessa liked it so much that she kept the color.
  • Is a natural diplomat and a quick study of culture and languages. Also seems to have a natural affinity for children of all species.
  • Has only been Joined for less than four Standard years. Her zhian'tara ceremony was hastily organized and was held simultaneously as Virgil Thon's after exposure to a Bajoran Orb made her isoboramine levels go haywire. Before that, she had several embarrassing occasions where she was briefly possessed by the personality of her immediate predecessor.

Tyr Symbiote

Jessa's symbiote, Tyr, is on it's third Host. Jessa's predecessors are:

Faro Tyr

  • a scholar of both religion and architecture, he merged the two interests by becoming the Quadrant's leading expert on religious architecture of many worlds. He had made two visits to Earth disguised as Human to make studies of ancient temples and Roman Catholic cathedrals. He is notorious for a particular affinity for "the flying buttress" and has admitted some of the obsession is a rather juvenile amusement at the term, once thoroughly translated from English.
  • Was closely acquainted at some point towards the end of his life with Solor of New P'Jem. Solor keeps a hardbound paper copy The Architecture of Praise & Worship, which is hand-inscribed by Faro.

Phillip Dade agreed to host Faro during the zhian'tara.

Terjan Tyr

  • Think "Syndicate Space Bro" and you're at least in the right ballpark. Exactly the sort of person that would call female-presenting people "sweetheart" without prior consent, and had he been born several centuries earlier would have added "no homo" after complimenting male-presenting people.
  • Got into demolition as a way to blow off steam as a bored spoiled scion of a wildly successful Trill merchant family. (Un)fortunately realized he had a talent for it, and leveraged said talent for a place in the Orion Syndicate.
  • Became Joined to Tyr under vague, dodgy circumstances that may or may not have involved outright theft.
  • Died due to a detonation "accident" at some point in his mid-thirties. The Syndicate, as promised, returned him to Trill to preserve the symbiote. Tyr, (and thus Jessa) still reacts adversely to loud sudden noise as a result.

Fal Marik agreed to host Terjan during the zhian'tara.
